I'm shopping for a home and painted brick is one of two deal breakers for me. The other is being on a dirt road.

I've lived in neighborhoods where most the houses were painted brick. While I like unpainted brick I remember some places in Virginia where the monotony of the same plain brick in all the houses cried out for someone to bring out some paint.
